Awramba Website Editor and his systematic Pro TPLF reporting techniques and patterns need to be a concern for all Ethiopians who want to see success in the struggle against the TPLF tyranny.

(In his reporting we often see Awramba Editor using diversion tactics from facts and truth , systematicaly downplaying facts that he finds it to be unfavorable to TPLF, creating, confusion and disseminating fear politics and systematically giving official and unofficial allies of TPLF coverage and thereby opening to them a door to confuse the Ethiopian Diaspora.

At the same time Awramba Editor even posts news and articles that are in line with the real oppositions of TPLF, but that is just a trick so as to keep the balance and to be seen as Pro Change. Though he might be in favour of some meaningless symbolic cosmetic change within TPLF, every realistic observable indication on his website clearly shows that he is a kind of journalist who actually does not want to see the rotten TPLF repressive regime go away.)

This is a piece of information that I have tried to compile and want to share with every Ethiopians worldwide who deeply believe in the need of getting rid of the apartheid system that TPLF has imposed on the vast majority of the Ethiopian People.

As is well known, the repressive TPLF regime has succeeded to stay on power for the last 20 years not because it is strong, but it’s owing to the fact that those of us who want to get rid of it, have not been as strong as we are supposed to be.

One of our main weaknesses is that we have not been awake enough to properly follow them up and in due time expose the systematic way in which some individuals or groups with direct&indirect relation to TPLF try to embed themselves among us and damage our struggle. We must be alert enough to keep an eye on any individual or group which one way or the other try to damage our struggle for change, and expose it before it is too late. Let’s not allow the minor differences that might exist among us to be exploited by TPLF or any of its official or unofficial allies.

As any one of us, who live in the western world, Awramba Editor has a right to freedom of expression, so he is entitled to publish any information he wants. Nevertheless those of us who know that TPLF is the number 1 enemy of our oppressed people need to be wise enough not to be easily cheated and distracted from our struggle by some of the Pro TPLF news and articles that Awramba editor (specially recently ) has been engaged in disseminating.

Website Launch Press Release of Awramba Press releases are the fastest way of informing people about one’s business. Once the website launch press release is written and arranged then the task of distribution can start. Now a days one can easily use PR platform to be able to distribute the press release to a number of online sources simultaneously. MyPRGenie is for example such an online press release distribution service which enable one to distribute press release simultaneously to many search engines, newswires, blogs, RSS feeds, media database and other news related websites. The distribution to these different sites helps increase the ranking of the newly launched website and helps generate traffic towards it.

As a professional journalist, Awramba editor is expected to know the existence of such services like that of MyPRGenie. Assuming that he knows about such services, one can therefore wonder why he chose to hold a special Website Launch press release event on which he even invited a number of people. Of course there is nothing wrong with holding a special Website Launch press release event, as long as he wanted to do it that way, but still one can not stop wondering what prompted him to decide to have the press release in that kind of special event. The only one who knows the exact reason behind that is only Awramba Editor himself; nevertheless it is a no-brainer for anyone who has followed up Awramba closely why he needed that kind of ceremonial beginning. One of the main reasons for Awramba Editor to have prepared that kind of website launching special event in Washington DC must have been in order to get a fast and easy acceptance by the mainstream Ethiopian Opposition Political groups and their followers. It was therefore strategically important for Awramba Editor not only to start the website just by holding a press release, but also by inviting Ethiopians who one way or the other are well-known in the mainstream Ethiopian Opposition Politics such as Judge Birtukan Mideksa, Human Right activists & Artist Tamagne Beyene, and last but not least the founder of Unity College and at present ENTC general secretary Dr. Fisseha Eshetu.

In addition to these above mentioned Ethiopians who were invited as key note speakers, other well-known Ethiopian politicians, Civic Organization leaders, Journalists, political satirists, political analysts, etc. were invited to participate on the event in Washington DC physically as well as virtually ( through Skype and other communication means). Here are names of few of them; the head of diplomatic/foreign relations – Efrem Madebo (physically present), the well-known Civic Organization Leader – Obang Metho (virtually through Skype) , the well-known Political satirist Abi Tokichaw (virtually through Skype), etc.

Among the key note speakers judge Birtukan Mideksa and Dr. Fisseha Eshetu did not participate, while Tamagne Beyene was on the ceremony and gave Awramba endorsement.

So in anyway as everyone can understand Awramba editor’s main aim behind the website launching event ( ceremony ), was to use the event as a platform for promoting himself as a journalist who will be fighting the crimes that TPLF regime is committing on the vast majority of Ethiopian people and get the acceptance and the trust of the vast majority of Ethiopians in diaspora who totally reject the repressive TPLF system back home.

Awramba Editor’s main strategy in achieving his aim was therefore through a website launching ceremony to get endorsement from as many Ethiopian Opposition political figures as possible and at once.

In this context, it is also important to mention that Awramba Editor even had an interview on ESAT with Sisay Agena prior to the web launching ceremony. On his interview he said that he left Ethiopia, since the present regime did not allow him to work at home and even consequently forced him to leave the country.

As Sisay Agena then asked him, how he plans to continue his journalism, he said that he would publicize Ethiopian related news covering both the Diaspora and back home. Moreover he also said that he will continue to make his Online news and information reachable to the Ethiopian public back home. Most Importantly he made it known that he also would maintain his ties with his reporters in Ethiopia so that they can report news to him to be publicized on Awramba website.
Sisay Agena then asked him two important questions the first one was how he could have reporters that work for his news media in Ethiopia, if he claims to have left Ethiopia being forced by TPLF regime for having been engaged for publicizing news which were seen as sensitive to the regime. The other question that Sisay Agena asked him was how he imagines that making his Online news and information would be reachable to the Ethiopian public back home , given the fact that the regime back home blocks any website that it finds to be critical to its repressive rule.
Awramba Editor who does not seem to have expected to face such kind of hard question, paused for a while, and answered that he would tell his reporters to go and ask the concerned government agencies in Ethiopia to give them license to work for his news media as a reporter.

Then he said, if the government gives them the license that would be good, otherwise that he would try to find different other options.

Awramba after the official launch of the website
After having held the press release for launching the website, Awramba Editor was officially engaged in publicizing different kinds of News & Articles and even Audios and Videos.
For anyone who closely follow up Awramba website, it is quite easy to understand that the editor has quite a big contributors and well established network of news & information source.
It could also be fair to say that the Editor sometimes publicize news & information that could be important to the struggle that is being waged to get rid of the repressive TPLF regime that we most Ethiopians are fighting against.
Nevertheless the Editor has one step forward two steps backward strategy. Specially in a time like now, when TPLF is intensifying the attack against our people, and as most Ethiopians in the oppositions are fighting back TPLFs aggression in every possible way, it is surprising to see Awramba Editor to become more and more engaged in publicizing news & articles that are obstacle to the ongoing struggle to get rid of the rotten TPLF system.

Here below are presented some of the many evidences that show how Awramba editor is seriously engaged in being contradicting the ongoing struggle for achieving freedom in Ethiopia.
1 Awramba Editor Interviewing a person who came in defense of the pathological liar Bereket Semon and defame all Ethiopians in the opposition. (Posted on Awramba on August 12-2012 )
When many Ethiopian websites Opposing the TPLF regime did expose the Bereket lies regarding Meles Zenawi's health condition in August, what Awramba instead did was contacting one of Berket Simon’s friends called Yared Tibebu for an interview.

Yared Tibebu who himself in the interview claim to be a good friend of Berket Simon openly criticized the opposition websites report as he at the same time said that Bereket Simon is a trust worthy person and what he said about Meles Zenawi's health condition was correct.

2 Article posted on Awramba that contradicts Dr. Kassa Kebede’s statement regarding the 35 Million US dollar which is said to have been taken from Israel and invested in Endowment Fund for Rehabilitation of Tigray (EFFORT) (Posted on Awramba on August 12-2012)
When Dr. Kassa Kebede in his November interview at ESAT was asked about what he knows regarding the 35 million US dollar that Israel is said to have given to TPLF regime in 1991 in connection to the migration of the Bet Israel’s, he explained that the TPLF regime had received the money and transferred it to Endowment Fund for Rehabilitation of Tigray (EFFORT) Account. As this fact was revealed by Dr. Kassa Kebede on ESAT, many Ethiopian opposition websites were quick to post the ESAT interview video clip; on the contrary Awramba Editor on December 2, 2012 chose to post a pro TPLF article that contradicts Dr. Kassa Kebede’s claim that TPLF transferred the 35 million US dollar to EFFORT. While all Ethiopian Opposition websites day and night work hard in exposing the cruelty, Authoritarianism , destructiveness and Anti-ethiopianess of the late Meles Zenawi and the TPLF regime that he left behind, In the same way to that of TPLF news outlets (such as Fana Braoadcasting), Awramba on December 13, 2012 chose to post a news that CNN named Meles Zenawi among notable people the world has lost in 2012.

4 In defence of Hailemariam Desalegne by using a deviating Technique i.e. shifting the Domestic Issue to regional Issue. Posted on Awramba on December 15, 2012

As Hailemariam Desalegn in an exclusive interview told Al Jazeera that he is ready to speak to President Issaias Afeworki, many Ethiopian opposition websites were exposing the controversialness of his statement, since many of the TPLF/EPRDF high officials in different mass medias tell the public formally and informally quite the opposite to what he said.
As many Ethiopian opposition websites were busy with exposing the Poppet Hailemariam Desalegne and the whole TPLF regime, Awramba chose to post a news that was received from the allies of TPLF regime (Awat.com) that defends the controversialness of Hailemariam Desalegne’s and which says that it was the Eritrean president Isaias Afwerki who first asked Qatar for mediation long before Hailemariam Desalegn’s
Al Jazeera Interview. The video posted by Awramba on 19 december 2012 was in line with TPLF Strategy of creating politics of Fear to destract Ethiopians from the struggle for freedom. Awramba on December 19, 2012
In such a critical time in which many Ethiopian opposition websites are busy exposing TPLFs injustice being committed on innocent Ethiopian Muslims under the pretext of Islamic Terrorism, Awramba posted a very sensitive and fake video clip received from TPLF sources under the title Radical Islam in Ethiopia.

The Video Clip was completely disgusting and yet consisted no evidence for what it claims, except the fact that it reveals the fact that it was a drama which was being played by TPLF cadres with the intension of creating animosity between Christians and Muslims.

Nevertheless the protest letter which was sent by Tedla Asfaw to Awramba was not posted on Awramba and Awramba did not either specifically on his website give credit to Ato Tedla Asfaw for the letter, though he just posted a note that the removal of the video was due to the protest received from its readers.

Here you can watch Awramba Editors Interview with Abebe Gelaw, in which Awaramba Editor tries to make the appointment of 3 Deputy PMs by HD had been carried out according to the Ethiopian Constitution and in a proper Democratic order, while Abebe Gelaw explained it to him that it was a fake appointment that was staged to look like a constitutional and a democratic one.

Regardless of Abebe Gelaw's convincing explanation, Awramba tried hard to question Abebe Gelaw in a way that Abebe Gelaw's opposing view regarding the appointment was
Just a kind of bias that the Ethiopian oppositions have towards TPLF in general.
7 Awramba posting Pro TPLF news regarding the issue of Abune Petros and Minilik II monuments

In a similar way to the above examples, many opposition websites, radios, and ESAT exposed TPLFs usual anti-Ethiopianness in publishing the intension to remove Abune Petros and Minilik II monuments under the Pretext of building a Railway Infrastructure ,
Instead of supporting the struggle in exposing TPLF anti-Ethiopianness, Awramba who promised to fight the repressive regime on Nov-26-2012 chose to post Audio news received from TPLF sources that contradicts the news which was published and aired by many Ethiopian Opposition media outlets and which says that Opposition medias news was completely false.

8 Posting articles that can lead to unnecessary division among Ethiopian Opposition Groups in line with TPLF strategy of Divide and rule. Posted on Awramba on November 16, 2012

As is well known nearly every Ethiopian Opposition website editors work hard to expose the injustice that is being committed by TPLF on all Ethiopian Political Prisoners as well as on the vast majority of the Ethiopian People. At the same time, there is also a common understanding among many people in the opposition that there is a need of having some common figure that can be symbolize the injustice that TPLF is committing on our people. In the past, Birtukan Mideksa was a symbolic figure for the injustice in Ethiopia. At present time, it does not seem to exist a specific individual among the prisoners of consciences in Ethiopia that symbolize the injustice in Ethiopia, Nevertheless Eskinder Nega seems to be the most symbolic figure of the injustice in Ethiopia among all the prisoners of consciences. Regardless of the need to have a symbolic figure, who is symbolic figure is not and should not need to be the main focus of the struggle. No matter who symbolizes the injustices that TPLF is committing on Ethiopians, the fact of the matter is there is undeniable injustice that our people have become victim to. So we all know that all prisoners of conscience such as Andualem Aragi, Bekele Gerba, Reeyot Alemu, Woubshet Taye, Olbana Lelisa, and many thousands of others are real heroes who are sacrificing themselves for the vast majority of the oppressed Ethiopians. We know very well that they are the ones who are paying immense sacrifice in the inhuman prison of TPLF in Addis Abeba and many other known and unknown prisons all over Ethiopia.

So there is no need of discussion regarding who among the Ethiopian prisoners of conscience deserve more respect, since they all do deserve our respect and love. Having said so, it is a bit confusing why Awramba constantly chose to create an impression that we Ethiopians in the opposition do care less for some of them and care more for some others.

Awramba Editor does post articles that create such impression especially regarding Wobeshet Taye, whom every Ethiopia Opposition love and respect. The articles and the different information that are posted on Awramba create an impression that some Ethiopian Opposition medias especially ESAT does not care about Wobeshet Taye.

This kind of news and articles which are posted by Awramba Editor has a negative impact on the struggle and that needs to be known. N.B ESAT is a Voice of the vast Voiceless Ethiopians, and any unsubstantiated and systematic, and improper attack against ESAT is tantamount to attacking the voiceless Ethiopians and not acceptable.

Regarding Ethiopians protest at Meles Zenawi Memorial Service in front of Abyssinian Baptist Church, Awarmba Editor did interview Tedla Asfaw. To judge from the Interview, it was very easy to observe that Awramba Editor was not happy with the protest.
Tedla Asfaw anyway explained to Awramba editor that the protest in front of Meles Zenawi’s Memorial Service was held mainly to remind the gathered US , UN and other countries high profile diplomats that they also need to mourn for those Ethiopians whom we have lost by the order of Meles Zenawi.

In addition Tedla made it clear to Awramba Editor that the protest was a warning signal to the rest of Meles Zenawi’s comrades that are still on power and have continued to harass our people that repression is by no means acceptable.

Creating confusion and diversion from facts and truth

Awramba posts news and articles that give an impression as if the other ethnic parties that are attached to TPLF are a kind of parties that have a functioning structure and power by themselves and as if their party leaders are not just Yes Sir Sayers and subordinates of TPLF.

Is it not a fact that the Parliament is controlled 99.6 % by EPRDF, which in turn is totally controlled by TPLF?
Is it not a fact that the parliament has only one opposition lawmaker out of 547? Awramba as a journalist who claim to have left his country for having been critics of the repressiveness and unlawfulness of the regime should and could have exposed the regime so called parliament approvals as fake and unconstitutional, instead of posting news that are in line with TPLF propaganda.

Awramba Editor likes to post articles that create an impression that TPLF is not the dominant power that is controlling the economical and political power of Ethiopia.
Awramba Editor for example seem to like posting David Shinns political opinion, owing to the fact that David Shinn is a Pro late Meles Zenawi and Pro TPLF diplomat who also want to systematically create an impression that TPLF is not a dominant power in EPRDF, though the fact is quite the opposite.

“I think it’s trying to acknowledge that the EPRDF must broaden its base, reach out more widely to different ethnic groups, and that the Tigrayan leadership, which in the past has controlled so many of the key slots, has to share more power,” he said. “After all,” Shinn noted, “Tigrayans constitute only 6.1 percent of the population. Enbanen Wogeni’s Note: The fact of the matter is contrary to the positive impression that David Shinn tries to create about TPLF whom Awramba also seem to like, TPLF is the most dominant party in EPRDF that manipulates and controls all other fake ethnic parties in any way shape or form it wants.

So, why is Awramba Editor desperately trying to disseminate information that creates an impression that TPLF is a party that shares political power and as if it is a party that obeys constitution of the country, while other real opposition websites expose the truth behind TPLF drama of power sharing ?

May GOD bless our struggle to get rid of TPLF apartheid system and replace it with a real Democratic system, where peace, justice, equality and unity prevails!!
